The convent once owned by the Franciscan order, was suppressed by the Neapolitan Edicts and afterward in 1817 was purchased by the Mapei family that restored it and adapted as a dwelling the former convent and commissioned the frescoes with decorations in Roman and Pompeian style. In less than two hours it is possible to reach Rome, in less than 30 minutes Pescara, a lively sea town with golden shores of the Adriatic sea and the international airport, in 45 minutes the ski lifts of Majella are reached, where it is possible to ski while looking at the sea.
